Deputy Chief Garret Tom has serve with the SFPD for 33 years. He is currently oversees the Special Operations Bureau which includes the Tactical Unit, Honda Motorcycle Unit,Traffic Motorcycle Unit, Marine Unit, Bomb Squad, Canine Unit, Mounted Unit and Homeland Security Unit.  Deputy Chief Tom is a native San Franciscan.  He attended George Washington High in the Richmond District.  He has a Bachelors degree from Cal State Long Beach and a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University.   It is a true honor for me to be in the presence of such beautiful and talented ladies.  You are all an inspiration to our community, and I can see that you are all winners!  Hold your heads up high as we hold each of you in our hearts.
